Where are i heart Wines from?

We aren't limited to sourcing our wines from a specific country or region, this means we can get our wines from different wine-regions around the world to make sure we are always delivering the best quality and value.

Do i heart Wines contain sulphites?

Sulphites are added to wine as preservatives and are present in all i heart Wines.

Are i heart Wines suitable for vegetarians and vegans?

Unless approved by The Vegetarian Society, no wine can be guaranteed as suitable for vegans or vegetarians.

Due to non-vegetarian/vegan products being used in the fining process we are unable to state that all i heart Wines are suitable for vegetarians or vegans. All fining agents are removed during filtering before bottling the final product, but some traces may remain.

Do i heart Wines have yeast present?

Yes, yeast is a key element within wine making. Yeast is added to the grape juice to turn the sugars to alcohol, therefore turning the juice to wine. This is the process of fermentation. Once fermentation is complete, the yeast is removed before the wine is bottled.

Are there any allergens in i heart Wines?

Some milk, egg and fish products are used in the fining process of our wines. Although these are filtered out of the finished product, some traces may remain.

Do i heart Wines contain gluten?

All i heart Wines are gluten free.

I’ve heard the word tannins used, what is that all about?

Tannins are naturally occurring polyphenols (or micronutrients). They are found in grape skins and seeds and also in wood like oak barrels. Tannins taste dry and sharp, and contribute to the colour, flavour and aroma of wines.

What temperature is best for serving and drinking wine?

The normal recommendation is that white wine, sparkling wine and rose are served chilled (8-10°C ) and reds are warm (12-14°C). But so what if you fancy a warm white or a cold red!

There is so much wine jargon, does it really matter?

We don’t think so, we think you should just be able to grab a bottle of your favourite wine and know it’s going to taste great. We do all the hard work for you, so you can forget the jargon and just know you are getting a great tasting wine whichever style you choose.

How do I go about matching wine and food?

Really there aren’t any set rules, everyone’s tastes are different so go ahead and match your favourite wine with your favourite food whatever that may be! However, if you do want a few suggestions and advice, then have a look at our wines pages where we’ve added a few food matches to each wine.

How long should I keep i heart Wines after I have opened it?

If you do have some wine left over, then reseal it, pop it in the fridge if it is white, rose or sparkling and drink the rest over the next couple of days.

How long should you keep i heart Wines for before opening it?

Our wines are produced and bottled to be drunk young and fresh. So why wait?! We recommend you enjoy them as close to the date they are purchased as possible.

Why do you use screw-caps on i heart Wines rather than corks?

Screw-caps are a convenient and secure closure for wine, they help to ensure optimum quality each time a bottle is opened.
